The Nelson County Board of Supervisors is considering a set of proposed amendments to the County Zoning Ordinance’s section on communication towers. The County’s planning commission has working on the new draft since the summer. The NelsonCounty times Reports there are several notable policies and procedures revisions. Among them include efforts to better protect property owners by allowing for public notification and hearings for towers proposed to be built in residential areas or within 300 feet of an occupied dwelling. A copy of the ordinance is expected to be posted on the county’s website before the public hearing on Jan. 23.
