Do you know what an iron horse is? You will, if you attend an annual event in Lynchburg this weekend. It’s called Rail Day and it’s more than a model train show more like history lesson. First organized in 1978, the show every year, features clubs, organizations, and individuals sharing portable layouts, train exhibits and photographs along with a variety of railroad slide shows shown throughout the day. Hosted by the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society ,Rail Day will be held on Saturday, August 9th at the Boonsboro Ruritan club from 9am until 3pm.
