The rail safety task force appointed by Gov. Terry McAuliffe is set to hold its first meeting. McAuliffe appointed the task force after the April 30 fiery derailment of a train carrying crude oil in Lynchburg. Sen. Mark Warner is calling for more research on Bakken Crude, after Scientists and the EPA found trace amounts of acetone in the James River after the explosion. Sources say Acetone isn’t found in oil …but in the fracking fluid that extracts it. The first meeting of the rail safety task force will be held in Richmond this afternoon.
