A resident of the Johnson Senior Center in Amherst is accused of string of crimes following an attempted arson at the assisted living facility this week. Amherst County authorities responded to a disturbance call at the center around midnight Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, a deputy discovered a fire had been set deliberately. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Deborah Sue Williams. Williams is charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of attempted arson and one count of assault and battery. An investigation is ongoing.
