A two-vehicle crash in the New London area –close to the Bedford-Campbell border, drew emergency responders from each county; sent three people to the hospital and shut down traffic for over an hour along a portion of Route 460 Thursday night. State Police say a 26-year-old Boones Mill woman was traveling on Bethel Church Road but failed to yield the right of way as she entered U.S. 460 and was hit by an SUV. The woman was airlifted to Lynchburg General. Two people in the SUV were taken by ambulance; there is no word on their conditions. An investigation is ongoing—no charges have been filed at this time.
