A Rustburg man is behind bars in connection with a fatal assault. Campbell County authorities say 60 year old Gregory Wade McGann was assaulted at his residence early yesterday morning and later died from his injuries. 40-year-old Michael Stout of Rustburg is charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and upgraded charges will follow. Stout is currently being held with no bond at the Campbell County Adult Detention Center.

The Campbell County Criminal Investigation Division developed a suspect in this case. 40 year old Michael Stout of Rustburg was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding. Stout is currently being held with no bond at the Campbell County Adult Detention Center. This is an ongoing investigation and more charges may be obtained at a later date.
On 01-16-22, 60 year old Gregory Wade McGann, succumbed to injuries sustained during an early morning assault at his residence. Additional up graded charges will be forth coming in this case. 40 year old Michael Stout of Rustburg is currently being held without bond at the Campbell County Adult Detention Center.
