School Board Will Request More Funding

The Lynchburg City School Board is slated to vote on a proposal to ask City Council for additional annual funding. The increase of $723,000 would pay for half of a 2 percent raise for division employees. According to the School Superintendent, the raise would help offset rising costs of living for staff. Under the proposals, some employees would get special strategic compensation increases instead. Board members plan to continue discussion of budget priorities at this evening’s meeting.
