Lynchburg City Schools offer educational services to more than 8,000 students. This week schools have been celebrating American Education Week. Yesterday the division held their fourth annual open house event; today teachers around the school division will be hosting an Educator for a Day programs. The school division has announced a donation of $100,000 to be used in creating the Award for Excellence in Science scholarship. A four-year, $25,000 scholarship will be given every school year for the next four years to an outstanding senior who wants to go into a science-related field. The donation applies to a senior from E.C. Glass or Heritage. To learn more about Lynchburg City Schools, American Education Week or upcoming events visit: www.lcsedu.net
