Amherst County has seen a developing tradition of short-term administrators in the past five years. Today, the Board of Supervisors is expected to once again discuss finding a replacement for County Administrator Clarence Monday, who announced his retirement earlier this month. Monday’s effective retirement date is July 1; he has held the position of administrator since January 2012. The News & Advance reports, the application deadline and initial screening of candidates is set for May and early June with the new administrator’s orientation beginning by August. According to the article, the board has not voted yet on accepting Monday’s resignation.
