A Halifax County man was found guilty of robbing a couple at gunpoint last spring at an Altavista hotel. 19 year old, Daeshawn Lamont Rendon entered Alford pleas Thursday to two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Prosecutors said Rendon was an accomplice in the crime. Randall Compton, of Gretna, pleaded guilty in August to two counts of robbery, two counts of use of a firearm and possessing a weapon as a violent felon and awaits sentencing next month. Authorities say the pair entered the Day’s Inn hotel room in April 2013 to rob a couple while a toddler was present.
