Senator Mark Warner is on a four-day tour of the state. Warner, who was in Forest and Altavista on Wednesday, is up for re-election. During a tour of the Center for Advanced Engineering and Research facility yesterday morning, Warner spoke about the importance of innovation and job creation. The senator also pointed to the Government Performance and Results Modernization Act of 2010 as one effort to make government agencies more efficient and accountable. The act, which Warner sponsored, requires agencies to report on their highest and lowest performing programs each year.
