Smart Beginnings Awarded Grant

A regional initiative for early childhood education, has received just over 95-hundred dollars in grant funding from the Greater Lynchburg Community Trust. Among Smart Beginnings outreach tools are two mobile literacy units known as: Gus the Learning Bus and Rex the Resource Bus. SBCV serves the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and the cities of Lynchburg and Bedford. Smart Beginnings, a project of the United Way of Central Virginia, says the money will go toward family support and education programming.
