Lynchburg Mayor Mike Gillette issued his, state of the city address Monday night. The speech highlighted some of the city’s accomplishments over the past twelve months and laid out goals for the future. According to officials, the city has been able to make strides toward major goals ranging from infrastructure overhauls to economic development; including more resources into the public schools, and 31 new businesses opening last year. The night also included a series of awards and a review of the city’s newly launched interactive Lynchburg is Listening website. The city plans to host a series of public forums next month.
