A Virginia State Police trooper was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital Monday after striking a guardrail on U.S. 460 in Lynchburg with his cruiser in an attempt to stop a speeding car. The News & Advance reports, the trooper was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck on the section of the highway between Campbell Avenue and Candlers Mountain Road, which temporarily shut down traffic. Sources say the cruiser spun out to avoid a collision with another car, but struck two other vehicles before hitting a guardrail. The trooper was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries. The other drivers were not injured.
