Nelson County has joined forces with the Jefferson Area Board of Aging to investigate the potential need for assisted living and care for memory-impaired individuals in the area. JABA had an initial feasibility study conducted about a year and a half ago, on whether there would be a market if an assisted living-only facility was built. At the time, the study showed it would not be worthwhile to move forward because old data was being used—recently released data suggests an updated feasibility study is now needed to determine the need for expanding care in the county.
