The Campbell county Board of Supervisors yesterday approved the third phase of a four-phase public safety radio project. Supervisors considered ways to better provide communication to emergency services or to bypass phase four and join the regional system. The final decision to use existing mobile radios and upgrade infrastructure was an option that was originally considered. According the News & Advance, phase three was more financially viable and improved communication that county public safety officials are in need of now. County staff will present possibilities for the fourth phase in four to six months.
