The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors is set to review the final draft of the County’s zoning ordinance revisions tonight. The News & Advance reports, work on the amendments began in 2010 when the planning commission focused on a few specific amendments, some of which already have been adopted. Then, commissioners decided to update and reorganize the entire document. Some of the most significant changes address additional standards in the special uses in the ordinance as well as modifying the home occupation regulation. The planning commission voted to recommend approval of the changes at its November meeting. Supervisors will consider advancing the amendments to the next step, which would be a public hearing at the February meeting.
