Lynchburg City Council today will consider approving the creation of a 34-acre conservation easement for private property near Boonsboro Road. Conservation easements are voluntary agreements that place permanent restrictions on a property to protect its natural resources and open space. The property includes a historic 1810 home and is next to an existing 50-acre easement through the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. Council will consider the request and hold a public hearing during the meeting tonight. The planning staff and the Lynchburg Planning Commission support the application.
