JULY 10 UPDATE FROM LYNCHBURG POLICE: On July 8, 2015, the suspect was identified as a 12 year old male. Multiple charges stemming from the incidents have been placed or are pending. These include Grand Larceny auto theft, Petit Larceny, Breaking and Entering, Property Damage, and Possession of Burglary Tools. In total, four separate buildings were broken into, early in the morning, between the dates of 6/27/2015 and 7/6/2015. The businesses were Greg’s Auto Repair (3523 Campbell Avenue) and Pure Gas Station (3533 Campbell Avenue). Two private residences nearby were also burglarized and damaged.
ORIGINAL NEWS RELEASE: The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries in the area of Campbell Avenue in the City of Lynchburg. Among other things, several passenger vehicles were stolen. During the course of the investigation, a person of interest was discovered on surveillance video.
