Smith Mountain Lake residents and businesses will be pulling together…to pull out unwanted debris from around the lake. The 27th annual “Take Pride in Smith Mountain Lake” clean-up day will be held on the first Saturday in May. There will be nine debris drop-off sites in Franklin and Bedford County. An estimated 1,000 or more people have participated in the clean-up effort in past years. The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 3rd. Volunteers can play a part individually, as a group or organization; participants will be provided supplies. Registration for the event is taking place until April 21st.
