Bedford County officials today are expected to decide whether to increase the real estate tax. If approved, it will be the first rate increase in 12 years. In March, The Board of Supervisors voted to advertise a 3-cent real estate tax rate hike for Fiscal Year 2015 set to begin July 1. Sources say the increase faced opposition and gained some support from residence at a public hearing last week. The board has a work session, before voting during the 7:30 p.m. meeting
