The man convicted of the murder of 17 year old Alexis Murphy tells media outlets that he plans to appeal. 48 year old, Randy Allen Taylor denies any involvement, but did not testify in his own behalf during the trial and was ultimately convicted by a jury of first-degree murder in commission of abduction and abduction with intent to defile. Authorities say any chance of a plea deal, in exchange for Murphy’s body, would have had to have happened before the verdict. Taylor cannot now cut a deal, to get a lighter sentence. Each conviction carries a minimum of 20 years in prison.
