Teva to supply US military with Va.-made vaccine

FOREST, Va. (AP) _ Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. will supply the U.S. military with a Virginia-made vaccine to combat the spread of infectious respiratory disease in basic training camps. The Army announced the $170 million contract Monday between Jerusalem-based Teva and the U.S. Defense Department. The adenovirus vaccine is manufactured at Teva’s plant in Forest. Under the five-year contract, the company anticipates the military’s nine basic training camps will need about 250,000 vaccine doses per year.
