Official for the city of Lynchburg, say that inspectors visited the former Barker-Jennings building on Campbell Avenue, last month after receiving complaints about broken windows. City codes that were violated include the requirement that plumbing fixtures must be properly installed after the walk through revealed that all copper, plumbing and electrical wiring had been removed. The News & Advance reports, VUL is required to board up the broken windows to secure the building. According to the article, the city plans to cut off the building’s water and electric service; and has scheduled a follow-up on June 30.
