Members from the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce and staff from the local Virginia Department of Transportation met yesterday to be briefed on the impact of last year’s transportation funding bill and to discuss how VDOT prioritizes projects. Topics included, ways to help advance Lynchburg projects and secure more money for the area. Also an update on the approval process was shared regarding the public-private proposal centering on the Odd Fellows Road interchange. The group heard ways to advocate for new road projects, along with ways to ensure maintenance needs are adequately funded. VDOT will hold public hearings on its six-year improvements plan in April or May.
