A suspected serial arsonist will undergo another psychiatric evaluation. Darrell Orange of Bedford County was found competent to stand trial in one arson case—he is now accused of a second that occurred last May at his home in Thaxton. Prosecutors say Orange set the fire while on probation for burning a cross. Orange’s trial was slated to begin on Tuesday, but was postponed when the judge ordered the second evaluation. Prosecutors says if he is found competent a second time, the cases can be tried together in June.
