lynchburg - emergency logoElection day turned out to be a good one for the three Democratic-party endorsed candidates in Lynchburg, but not so good for the Republican-endorsed ones. Incumbents Joan Foster and Randy Nelson led the way, winning re-election at-large City Council seats, and they’ll be joined by Treney Tweedy, who finished just behind Nelson in the third spot. Tweedy will replace H. Cary on Council; he finished fourth in yesterday’s voting, almost 1,500 votes behind. Cary was followed by Rhonnie Smith and Keith Anderson. All three winners were Democrat party endorsed — Republicans had endorsed the three who failed to hold or win Council seats.
