Nelson county businesses have decked the halls for an annual holiday tradition. Beginning Christmas Day, the seven wineries, three breweries and cidery of Virginia 151 kick off their fourth annual celebration of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which is a collective fundraiser for the community. From Dec. 26 through Jan. 5th, Nelson 151’s members will take turns holding an individual fundraiser on a specific day. Each member has chosen a local charity — approved by the Nelson County Community Fund. According to the Nelson County Times, about $15,000 has been raised since the initiation of the program; $4,200 of those proceeds, were raised locally last year alone.
