Two Businesses Targeted For Possession of Contraband Cigarettes

Two county businesses have been targeted by the Virginia Office of the Attorney General for the possession of contraband cigarettes. The New Era Progress reports: on June 2, an officers with the Office of the Attorney General seized 55 packs of cigarettes, from Express Lane convenience store South Amherst Highway in Madison Heights. Then on June 5, the investigator inspected The Store, also in Madison Heights, and seized 104 packs of contraband cigarettes. Virginia code makes it illegal to sell or possess cigarettes not included in the Virginia Tobacco Directory, a public log of all tobacco manufacturers and their products that are compliant with state law.
