No one spoke during public hearings, in Appomattox County on Monday. There were two issues up for discussion—the first was in regards to a request made to supervisors in January that proposed moving three polling sites to larger areas. The other concerned the zoning ordinance amendments; most of which are updates to ensure the ordinance reflects the county’s current practices and state code. The News & Advance reports, the zoning requirements for swimming pools were eased. According to the article, home occupation regulation was modified to create two categories to accommodate the county’s different population densities. The Board of Supervisors will vote on the issues next month.
