Another turn in the road for the Rt. 29 bypass project in Charlottesville. A newly submitted resolution against the project could slam the breaks on plans to move forward. The measure, which opposes the bypass and requests that unspent allocations for the road go to other projects’ was proposed on Monday, the same day a Virginia Department of Transportation analysis said the bypass could shave more than 22 minutes off daily commutes. A public hearing on the bypass issue had already been set for Wednesday. A vote on this resolution could follow that hearing.
