A Gladstone company is investing $45 million in upgrades. State officials were in Amherst Tuesday morning to make the announcement regarding Greif. The company specializes in industrial packaging products and services. Governor Bob McDonnell says the upgrades at the plant will include technology improvements that will reduce the amount of energy is takes to produce products. The company is based in Ohio and has had a mill located in Amherst County since the mid 1970’s–it employs nearly 300 people.
