A University of Virginia graduate’s private foundation is giving $10 million to the school to support its new Data Science Institute. The donation will be distributed in increments over the next six years. The university says that it will provide $7 million over the same period to supplement the endowment. The Data Science Institute will offer instruction and research in science, law, engineering, social science, humanities and other disciplines.
