Lynchburg Police are investigating a shooting yesterday afternoon that resulted in a crash on Old Forest Road. It happened just before 4pm in the 2100-block of Old Forest Road. Witnesses say several vehicles had crashed following the sound of gunfire. When police arrived, they located two vehicles involved in a traffic crash – both had been struck by gunfire. Nobody inside either car was injured. A third vehicle involved, a gold sedan, was seen leaving the area after the shots were fired. Police are looking for that vehicle.

Vehicles Struck by Gunfire on Old Forest Road

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon on Old Forest Road.

On May 26, 2022, at 3:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2100-block of Old Forest Road. Witnesses also reported that several vehicles had crashed following the sound of gunfire.

When LPD officers arrived, they located two vehicles involved in a traffic crash – both had been struck by gunfire. The occupants of these vehicles were not injured during the incident.

A third vehicle involved, a gold sedan, was seen leaving the area after the shots were fired. That vehicle has not been located.
