CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) _ Dozens gathered in a Charlottesville park Friday night in hopes of heightening awareness of a transgender woman who has been missing for three years. Sage Smith was last seen on Nov. 20, 2012. Media reports state that a few dozen people attended the Hope for Sage vigil, which attracted friends, family and community members. Dean Smith told those in attendance it’s been hard to remain strong as the years have passed since his child went missing. Lolita Smith is Sage Smith’s grandmother. She said she hopes the vigil will bring more awareness to her missing grandchild. Police said they are actively investigating Smith’s disappearance. They are offering a $20,000 reward for information in the case.
