Developers are hoping to restore the Virginian building into a branded hotel for Lynchburg. A pair of prospective buyers are scheduled to present their proposal to Lynchburg City Council tomorrow. The Virginian on Church Street, is former hotel but, in recent years was known as Section 8 apartments for low-income residents… it closed last year due to financial challenges. If the hotel plans are approved, major restoration efforts would begin this summer. The 115 room hotel would open in 2017– Council will review the developers’ presentation and decide on the request at Tuesday’s meeting.
