The James River Association is looking for citizen scientists to collect water samples and recording data to track the waterway’s environmental health.The quality monitoring initiative was launched by JRA across the James River watershed in 2013. This year, volunteers will be assigned to sampling teams, and work with instructors to help establish a sampling schedule that fits individual availability. No monitoring or science background is required; Training and materials are free. Sampling will occur weekly from May to September with data available on the James River Watch website.
