Lynchburg City Council will hold a public hearing today and possibly vote on a new master plan for Wards Ferry Road. The plan, which was endorsed by the planning commission, recommends a roundabout at the intersection of Harvard Street, turn lanes at Adams Drive and Atlanta Avenue and a wide multi-use path along the east side of the road. According to the News & Advance, the total estimated cost of the improvements is about $4 million. No immediate funding is attached, but if the master plan is approved, city staff will add it to the later years of Lynchburg’s capital improvements plan.
