An efficiency study of Bedford County Public Schools recommended closing two schools as part of a broad plan to better reallocate money to classrooms. Consultants presented 101 recommendations Thursday. Sources say the County could save at least 8 million if they closed Bedford Primary and Moneta Elementary. Both schools are considered outdated and require too many upgrades. According to the News & Advance, School board members had no idea whether the school could be closed for August to prevent paying for the expensive repairs but will discuss it going forward.
