Dennis and Jamie were joined by PRN’s Brad Gillie, who gave us everything we needed to know about the Daytona 500. Basketball analyst and VA Sports Hall of Famer Dan Bonner also got us up to speed on ACC hoops.
On a snowy day in Virginia, we were living vicariously through PRN’s Mark Garrow in Daytona Beach preparing for the 500. Davis Teel also gave us the latest on UVa and Tech Basketball ahead of their showdown in Blacksburg.
It was Hump Day on the show. Dr. Ben Ferry gave us a Super Bowl injury report. Jermaine Ferrell of WFXR also updated on the Hokies and ACC hoops.
Virginia Tech analyst Mike Burnop joined DC and Jamie to preview their game at UVa. Bryson Gordon of the News and Advance also came on to talk LU and High School hoops. We finished with a new Student Athlete Spotlight featuring tennis star Blair Gill of VES.
It was a big show as new MLB Hall of Famer Billy Wagner joined Dennis and Jamie to talk about his selection to Cooperstown. We also had a special guest question with Billy’s former coach at Ferrum, Abe Naff, surprising him on the phone. Brett Friedlander from saturdaydownsouth.com also gave us a look ahead to the upcoming ACC clash on Tabaco Road.
We got a double helping of the ACC with David Teel of the Virginian Pilot & Daily Press in the first half hour and Greg Madia of the Charlottesville Daily Progress to finish up the show. The ACC football schedule was released and we got their take on that, hoops and even some hardball.
Dennis and Jamie welcomed former Redskin Rick “Doc” Walker on to talk Washington at Philly in the NFC Championship. College Basketball analyst Dan Bonner also gave us the run down of ACC hoops.
